I have been working on a project that I would like to share with those of
you who are school administrators (or feel free to forward to your school
administrators). I will be teaching a ten-week online course beginning next
week directed at school administrators who do not use social media tools an=
d
who would like to learn and experience them in a safe and comfortable group=
.
It occurred to me that many school administrators are asked to create or at
least weigh in on school policy regarding social media even though their
exposure to these tools might be limited. The course will provide an
overview of current Web 2.0 tools as well as provide the opportunity to use
them with guidance in a comfortable peer group setting.
The course will require one hour per week of online class participation in
addition to some out of class interaction with classmates using some form o=
f
social media. For example, in the first week you will set up a Facebook
account, friend your classmates, join a Facebook group, and make a couple o=
f
postings of your own.
Topics covered include tools such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr,
Google Apps or Zoho Docs, Mindmeister, LinkedIn, VoiceThread, a wiki, a
blog, and a Ning.
If you would like to join our class, please click
here<http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=3DdFNnTjh6b2ptMzFpRzhX=
WlJ1cnpsQXc6MA>and
fill out the information. Once we have ten class members, you will be
notified of the first class date and time (based on the majority=92s
availability), and you will emailed directions on how to join the online
class. Target start date is the first week in March.
Please email me with any questions. ann.hamel@gmail.com
