Student Run Help Desk

Hi Guys

Anyone operate a student run help desk? What we are looking at is the
feasibility of some students participating in a help desk with
regularly scheduled times during their respective study hall. Do you
allow Community Service credits for their participation? Do you
structure it as a club? Remembering the old A/V Clubs..... with an
elected president and charter.

If you do, do you have an example of mission statement that you would
share? Procedures, trust elements play a big role in the success of
such a group. We are a 1:1 laptop school with a main admin, parents as
admins (home printers and networks), student user. We are thinking of
adding a new user "Tech Support" with admin rights, so as to minimize
access to our main admin password.

We would appreciate any feedback and advice.

Thanks
