an email solution so...). If an integrated SIS/planning solution isn't
available, what are your schools doing to track these irregular events
(guest speakers, board meetings, etc)?

What you are describing is not trivial. Integrating multiple calendar
data with SIS data with facility rental functionality is no small feat.
There is a company that I have seen mostly in International Schools
that I believe does this, called Facility ePORTAL. How it integrates
with other SIS I can't say. I am sure they also operate in the US.
