POP their MPH email accounts into whatever web client they prefer to use, as
it saves space on our server, they're more likely to check it, and is often
easier to use than what we have (OWA).
I remember about 12 years ago when the email question first came up, some
people on campus were all about severely limiting what they could do and
forcing them to only use *our* email so that we could *control* them and
possibly even punish electronic infractions by cutting off their email for a
certain number of days. The reality since then as new providers have arisen
and webmail has become the new reality is that that model just doesn't work.
Or if it does "work," it does so at the cost of other things.
I say that if they have webmail through some other service, let them access
it.
