=A0 The unstated reason is that it is so=A0easy to block (i.e. no cost or e=
ffort for most schools) that=A0the decision seems easy given uncertainty su=
rrounding the potential consequences.=0A=0ASo ....=0A1.=A0 It is a potentia=
l school tool.=A0 There are so many other potential distractions from thing=
s that have no way of being used in school that it is a weak argument to bl=
ock email as a potential time waster.=A0 =0A2.=A0 This is not dependent on =
access at school.=A0 They can do this from home.=0A3.=A0 This is the only p=
otential worry item however, you already have this problem if you provide s=
chool emails and I am unaware of any cases where a school has been held res=
ponsible for this unless the parents had previously and repeatedly brought =
the issue to the schools attention and it was part of a larger issue.=0A4.=
