It is soon that time of year when the International Living Maths =
Mathletics
Olympiad takes place. This is the only Olympiad in the world that =
caters
for learners from grade K-8 and last year there were just over 100 000
participants (5000 from UK and USA). Please note that we are =
introducing a
GRADE 8 paper this year. High Schools are welcome to register for the
Olympiad.

By way of introduction, We are an NGO that is committed to spreading the =
Joy
of maths to as many learners and educators as possible. We work closely
with the Hip2B2 TV show and magazine, we are maths advisors to the local
sciencentre, we regularly run learner and educator workshops (most =
recently
for the Department of Education) and we take part in all the national
Science weeks as well as the National Scifests. We aim to provide =
useful
teaching materials to assist teachers to spread the joy of maths to =
their
learners.

The Mathletics Olympiad materials are placed on a mini CD and mailed out =
to
any school that would like the CD (FREE OF CHARGE). The CD contains ALL =
our
past papers since 2000 (with worked solutions), this year=92s papers as =
well
as the worked solutions. Apart from this, we have included folders with
additional resources (over 800 fabulous educational website links, =
printable
worksheets, etc) that are free for you to make use of in class. Our
Olympiad is only one round and your school has about a month to write =
the
papers =96 thus fitting into your school=92s programme. The papers are =
aimed at
learners of all abilities (for the first =BE) and then the talented =
learners
(for the last =BC). =20

The Olympiad is supported by Grant Thornton =96 a firm dedicated to =
improving
the levels of maths in our country. We are also supported by TRULY
calculators and together we have produced the DOMINATOR =96 an =
affordable
scientific calculator that is endorsed by Living Maths and will be =
offered
to schools at excellent rates. =20
