oks (10.1" Win 7). We're using the same machine in 6th grade 1:1. Our 7th=
& 8th graders have the 8.9" ClassmatePC convertible netbooks (XP Tablet) -=
last year's model.
We've been quite pleased with the Classmates. Definitely more "bang for th=
e buck" for middle schoolers - it was a great way afford expanding a 1:1 pr=
ogram and adding tablet access for younger grades. We didn't go with them =
for our Upper School because we still have a number of classes dependent on=
use of CD and DVD drives, plus we needed a machine that would be reliable =
and usable for 4 years of high school. We were concerned that netbooks may=
not fit the bill.
We're running OneNote, Office 2007, Movie Maker, Audacity, Inspiration, and=
numerous web-based apps.
