Re: kindle

All,

We have 8 Kindles. We loan them out through the library. They are always
out and adults love them for pleasure and periodicals. Some students have
used them but without a good note taking ability they are limited.

Amazon is a nightmare to deal with. As far as I can tell they only want
to deal with retail. I have contacted them 5 times and each time support
has been less and less helpful.

We have talked with Barnes and Nobles and they are far more interested in
us as an institution. The Nook is better but still not a textbook. We
are likely to use the nooks a little but agree with other comments here
that we are on the cusp of significant changes in the devices and will
wait 6 months before a larger purchase then 1 or 2 of something.
