based on OpenOffice Writer. So far I've had no problems except for having to
rewire my brain a little bit before I teach.
However, this morning I made up handouts for a lesson based on downloading a
particular Writer file, uploaded that file to my website, and assumed that
all would work just fine.
I was wrong.
When I sent the class to www.tinyurl.com/mph-mrg/burgers.odt, nothing
happened. Actually, what happened was that every single student got a
message saying that the file couldn't be found. Now I know that I uploaded
that file and it was there, but I double-checked, and even tried typing in
the URL myself. Same problem.
So I punted, and quickly pasted the text I wanted them to work with into an
HTML file and had them copy and paste that.
Not the way I like to operate.
So what's up with OpenOffice, and ODT files in particular?
