Sam,
OpenDNS sounds intriguing. I'm looking for ways to optimize our minimal
bandwidth. I love free services and software, but I took a look at
their
website, and they explain that they are free because they show 'relevant
ads
when [they] show you search results.' Are they saying that they show
ads if
I type in a URL or only if I go to a search engine? Or do they show the
ads
only when you login to their Dashboard to see what's been going on at
your
school? If they add advertisements to everyday searches, do you find it
worthwhile? Can AdBlocker Plus for Firefox block them?

I am currently using OpenDNS for free blocking: http://www.opendns.com/=20
. While not perfect, it does work and the price is right.
You might consider giving it a try.
