I've used Synchroneyes in two different labs, and while it's a great
product my experience has been that audio and video don't work well with
the broadcast feature. I don't know if it's related to bandwidth but
even slide transitions in Powerpoint tend to be very jerky. What you
could do is to send out a file (from the teacher's PC) such as an mp3
like Bill suggested. The student machines would all receive the file and
the application associated with that file type would open. I've used
this functionality with MS Word files and URLs, and it works well.
Schools where I've worked in the past have used cassette tape players
and PA systems. I could also imagine purchasing a number of inexpensive
CD players and headphones, and duplicating the CD for each of them.
