Announcing summer educational technology workshops taught by leading
ed-tech practitioners:
"Teaching with Web 2.0" with Tom Daccord
June 24-26 in Boston
"Teaching with Web 2.0" focuses on educational uses of the "Read-Write"
Web and showcases a collection of interactive web sites that rely on
user-generated content and "collective intelligence." The workshop
includes an introduction to influential "e-learning 2.0" theorists and
practitioners, provides an overview of the best and latest Web 2.0 tools
for education, and demonstrates practical methods and techniques for
using
Web 2.0 in the classroom. Participants will undertake hands-on
exploration
of recent and beta tools that facilitate collaborative brainstorming,
group audio blogging, mobile podcasting, collaborative writing and
editing, group presentations, and social-educational networking, as well
as learn advanced features of established Web 2.0 tools.=20

The sixth-annual "Teaching History With Technology" workshop is an
intensive three-day hands-on opportunity for history and social studies
teachers to explore practical ways to use technology to enrich the
history
curriculum and engage students. The workshop showcases outstanding
history-related web sites, describes and illustrates practical methods
and
techniques for using technology in the history and social studies
classroom, and includes extended opportunities for targeted exploration
and experimentation. Participants will learn about innovative activities
and exciting projects for incorporating Web 2.0 tools and experiment
with
blogging, podcasting, wikis, and other evolving technologies.
