Re: ISED/Intro and authentic research in science

Bill:

At St. John's, we have a course call Scientific Research and Design. A
description of the class can be found by going here
(http://www.sjs.org/academics/curriculum/upper.asp#) and clicking on
Science from the drop down and then on the Scientific Research and
Design link.

The class can be a three year progression where students end up doing
research with a professor from the Medical center, Rice, or UH and will
do presentations on their research. They are also expected to enter
their research in competitions and we have had students present their
research at International conferences. It is a wonderful program and we
have had some students do some unbelievable research and presentations!

For more information, please contact our Chair of the Science department
at pelliott@sjs.org. Please let me know if there is anything else I can
help you with.
