Re: Antivirus

I second Dave. We have been using Deep Freeze for a few labs with no =
problems. We run a batch script to mount network shares for students so =
they can save over the network. But the great thing is that a restart =
will bring a system back to its desired state as seen on day 1. Also, a =
real nice management interface comes with DeepFreeze allowing machines to =
be frozen and unfrozen as a whole, smaller groups, or individually without =
have to walk around to each one. Our Windows labs used to be the source =
of a lot of headaches but DeepFreeze took that away.

As a small school which outsources most complicated tech stuff, I've=20
been delighted with the results of DeepFreeze (Faronics) this year. =20
Tried it out on a few computers and have had NO issues around spyware,=20
viruses, wallpaper, screen savers, or anything else on those computers. =

We give each kid a flash drive on the first day of school for saving=20
work, promote lots of saving and emailing (and hard copies)... life (in=20
the computer labs) is much easier this year! Highly recommended.
