Synergy

Synergy (from the [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_language ]Greek
synergos, meaning working together, circa [
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1660 ]1660) refers to the phenomenon in which
two or more discrete influences or agents acting together create an effect
greater than that predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the
individual agents. (Wikipedia)

So I get this email from a colleague in New Zealand.
>I saw your profile on the new http://isenet.ning.com/ site.

>We're in the midst of new building designs...and my head of faculty for
>english is keen on knowing
>if you have any links he could be privy to?

(This person knows about the ISEN ning site from reading posts to ISED.)

I remember there is a page on the School Computing Wiki on "Designing 21st
Century Schools" with some links to school design sites.

http://schoolcomputing.wikia.com/wiki/Designing_the_21st_Century_School

I hop over to take a look at the page and see that it has improved greatly
since I last visited; much more organized and lots more information.

I copy the URL and send it off to New Zealand.

All of this happens in about 5 minutes.

It seems clear that some really nice synergy is developing around ISED,
the School Computing Wiki, and the new ISEN. If you would like to
contribute to and benefit from that synergy consider creating an account
on the ISEN ning site. The url to get started is: http://isenet.ning.com/

Thanks for considering.
