Hi!

I'm told that NCTE has a good middle school group - that would meet this
teacher's exact needs.

LiteracyWorkshop.org is oriented toward middle school literacy, and so a
large part of the population is English/Humanities teachers. I moderate
this group. It's free, thanks to the kindness of our tech guy, Keith Mack.

MOSAIC is a K-12 group for teachers who base their reading instruction on
the "Mosaic of Thought" reading strategies.

I can't resist putting in a plug for MiddleTalk, which is the listserve
run by NMSA. It's a general middle school group, not oriented specifically
to English teachers, but it's an amazing group of people including some of
the really top flight names in the country, and among 500 people, there
certainly is a strong English/Humanities teacher presence.

Take care,
