Academic Technology Coordinator for 2008-2009 school year

Castilleja School school is seeking exceptional candidates for the positi=
on of Academic Technology Coordinator for the 2008-2009 school year.

Job Summary
The Academic Technology Coordinator (Coordinator) provides leadership and=
mentoring to faculty in the planning, use, and evaluation of technology =
in their classrooms. The Coordinator works with the Director of Technolog=
y and academic department heads to
articulate and realize our goals for academic technology across disciplin=
es, advocates for and encourages participation in co-curricular technolog=
y opportunities for students, and helps to lead =93thoughtful innovation=94=
within the school. The Coordinator
is a member of the Faculty, and such may also have academic teaching resp=
onsibilities depending upon qualifications.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Mentor teachers in the use of technology to support the curriculum.
-Provide regular updates to faculty on existing and new academic technolo=
gies.
-When required, provide direct instruction of students and teachers on th=
e use of computer applications.
-Work with school administrators and students to assure a complete and fl=
exible student acceptable use policy.
-Develop materials for use by faculty, staff, and students that support t=
heir use of technology.
-Support co-curricular student activities in the area of technology.
-Work with appropriate school personnel to identify and pursue grants tha=
t further the academic technology goals of the school.
-Keep current on new products and developments in the field of educationa=
l technology; review and evaluate appropriate software and hardware for p=
otential application in the classroom.
-Assists the Director of Technology in planning for future academic compu=
ting initiatives.
-Other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements
Education
-Master=92s degree in education, academic technology, and/or equivalent c=
ombination of education and experience.

Skills and Knowledge
-Experience in preparing curriculum and conducting programs for teaching =
people to use technology.
-Broad range of knowledge, skills and experience in the use of technology=
to enhance teaching and learning.
-Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in multiple depar=
tments across the school representing a range of technological expertise.
-Demonstrated superior teaching and communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and=
use good judgment in providing services based on goals.
