and students are required to purchase them with ThinkPad Protection. Most =
of the insurance claims we've had to file this past couple years have been =
covered by TPP. The few that were covered by Safeware were such a pain to =
deal with I just decided this year it wasn't worth the effort, or the =
waste of parent's money, to continue with them. If we got parts it took =
several months, they could never get the billing straight, and I think =
they still owe the school money for self-maintainer repairs. Honestly, if =
you have something like TPP and parents can add the laptop to their =
homeowners policy, in the event of theft, Safeware really isn't necessary =
(provided, of course, students own their own laptops).

Hope this helps,

This is a question for 1-to-1 schools.
For years we have recommended Safeware for parents wanting to insure
laptops. This year we've had a few parents report very unsatisfactory
experiences with the company. I have two questions.=20
1. Are other schools hearing about increasing issues with Safeware?
2. Are there competitors to Safeware that are doing a better job?
Thanks for any information you feel willing to share.
