I do not use either program that you mentioned. I have used the Finale
program but it is based more on keyboard skills to make accompaniments or
full scale orchestral works. A midi keyboard is required as well as a
computer. I have judged contests where the canned accompanist part was
allowed and when there is no one who can play the piano around, it is a
viable approach. I have recorded parts for students to listen to and sing
or play along with but it does require a lot of time and it is not pre
packaged. This works better with elementary children than high school age
youth. I have taught K-12 in vocal and instrumental music as well as church
choirs.
