Seeking Principal for St. Peter's Interparish School (PreK-8) on Capitol
Hill, Washington, DC
St. Peter's Interparish School, a co-educational Roman Catholic
elementary school on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, seeks a principal
to start July 1, 2008. The school educates more than 220 students from
PreK-8th grade. The school, founded 140 years ago, stresses academic
excellence and its Catholic heritage.
The successful candidate will:
*build on the school's history of academic excellence, with a focus on a
college preparatory-oriented curriculum, especially mathematics and
science in the upper grades
*ensure that education in the faith animates the curriculum at all
levels
*lead the faculty in developing students' core knowledge, reasoning
powers, and strong self-discipline
*develop, plan, and manage the school's financial resources
*maximize the resources of the community including our historically and
culturally rich neighborhood
*communicate well with faculty, parents, and parish leaders
Candidates must be practicing Roman Catholics with a Master's degree in
educational administration or related field and at least five years of
teaching experience, preferably three years or more in Catholic schools.
Expertise in standards-based curriculum, assessment, and technology
